Online surveys on aspects of e-learning
Online surveys on aspects of e-learning
Keywords: Europe, Vocational training, Online computing
Technology-supported learning, e-mail in electronic learning, trainers' skills for e-learning, the economics of e-learning, and e-learning and adult basic skills are the topics considered in surveys carried out by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) over the past 12 months.
Early results from the survey on trainers' skills for e-learning indicate anxiety among trainers about their current levels of skill and expertise, and how to improve them. Respondents indicated that there appear to be few formal methods of gaining these skills. Future survey topics will include universities and e-learning, trade-union attitudes and concerns about e-learning, and the evaluation of e-learning in relation to performance and organizational change. Meanwhile, figures produced by the European Commission reveal a 55 per cent increase in Internet use in Europe over six months. Use of the network by European households increased from 18 per cent in March 2000 to 28 per cent in October 2000.
