Austria provides potential trainees with quality checklist

Austrian authorities are seeking to provide more help for potential trainees who are confused by the recent proliferation in providers of continuing training in the country. The Austrian Institute for Vocational Research has teamed up with the Institute for Educational Research at the University of Graz to provide an online checklist of quality criteria for adult education and training courses. The site aims to help would-be clients to make a considered selection of fee-based courses and to clarify their aims and requirements in their own minds. The site also lists cost-benefit ratios of the various courses and, for each institution, trainers’ qualifications and the facilities available. There are also direct links to other sources of information and counselling.
