Introduction

This occasional feature within Education+Training seeks to highlight and summarise ongoing and recently published research. It does not pretend to be exhaustive but is a selection of the most interesting research activity relevant to the journal’s editorial objectives. It also notes a number of potentially useful resources and provides a calendar of forthcoming research conferences. Readers are invited to submit research news items to be considered for the next “Research news”, which will feature towards the end of the current volume.
