Financial Times Management has launched a revised and updated version of the comprehensive training programme, Quickguides. The programme offers smaller companies and start-ups a blueprint designed to cover all their business training needs in the areas of appraisal and performance, recruitment and selection, communication skills and modern communications.

Marketing services manager, Sandra Curtis, said: "The philosophy behind the new Quickguides is to provide a standard for business practices and a continual reinforcement of training messages. They can be used for primary training and also as a reference tool for a particular situation, such as carrying out an appraisal or recruiting key personnel."

QuickGuides are designed to be flexible in the way users navigate around the programme and access the relevant training tools. Covering everything from the most basic refresher courses in contemporary business practices (telephone/fax/e-mail communications, accessing the Internet, etc.), Quickguides can be used by individuals either as a complete course or as individual modules to provide users with an on-screen checklist allowing them to benchmark their performance.

"Organizations can purchase each of the four CD-ROMs by corporate licence if they wish", explains Sandra Curtis, allowing them to provide large numbers of employees with a standardized training programme that can be used across remote sites.

"For £6,000, we will provide companies with a licence and as many copies of the CD-ROMs as they require - at just a nominal charge of £25 each. This price also includes a day's in-house training for nominated staff on how to get the best out of Quickguides. In addition, we will brand the CD and its contents with the company's own logo if required."

If just one of the Quickguides is required as an immediate training tool, it can be purchased separately with its own explanatory booklet for £399. Each of the CD-ROMs is available in either AV1 or MPEG formats, and runs on Windows 95 or NT operating systems, requiring 16Mb of RAM.
