Management development specialists, Chartwell-Bratt (Publishing & Training) Ltd, formerly a subsidiary of Sweden's leading educational publishing group, Bratt International, is now an independent British company. Originally formed in 1977, it has been renamed Chartwell Learning & Development Ltd.

Chartwell are exclusive UK licensees for Situation Management Systems Inc. and Teleometrics International. The SMS programme Positive Power & Influence is the international market leader in influencing skills training. Teleometrics Learning Instruments' 360-degree behavioural surveys are widely used by trainers to personalize interpersonal skills training.

This year there will be around 40 open PPI programmes presented by Sheppard Moscow Development Services in association with Chartwell. Other SMS influencing skills programmes available from Chartwell cover negotiating, selling and innovation.

Teleometrics address such behavioural issues as communication, motivation, team-building, management style, consensus decision making, change and conflict. The Models for Management seminar combines several Teleometrics modules in an intensive three-day process of self-assessment, feedback and personal change planning.

Chartwell's courses are available in several languages and are conducted by members of an international network of trainers, or clients' own accredited staff.

Recently, Chartwell has developed an environmental awareness programme. The Environment at Work is designed for staff engaged in non-manufacturing activity. It helps them to understand how their day-to-day routines can impact on the environment and encourages them to adopt practices which are environmentally friendly and also cut costs.
