Pitman Training Group acquires franchised training and recruitment business

Keywords: Franchising, Training, Career guidance

Leading careers and training adviser, Pitman Training Group, has acquired the franchised training and recruitment business of the Future Group.

The franchises will be the responsibility of James O'Brien, group operations director, who will assess their current product range, recommend development activities, and evaluate possible synergies from integration and growth with any existing Pitman Training franchises which may be in the same territory.

"There is very strong development potential in the training and careers sphere which we intend to further exploit. Both the Future Group and Pitman Training Group have established records of success, and it is our belief that this combination, along with the Wetherby Training Centres, will allow us to extend the range of products and services, under a number of brands, to a larger customer base", explained chief executive, Chris Marshall.

"This is the first acquisition for Pitman Training since the management buy out in October 1998 and develops our strategy of bringing more choices to the marketplace in end-user and technical IT training, recruitment and careers support. By developing more high street franchises in the UK and internationally, we will strengthen our position as the leader and best provider in these fields", he concluded.
