DHL aims to develop the business leaders of tomorrow

DHL Worldwide Express is helping the world's largest student organisation to achieve its mission of developing young people to become able to meet the challenges of the international business world.

DHL is facilitating traineeships in the Asia-Pacific for selected members of AIESEC, an international student-run association with around 30,000 students at some 700 universities in more than 90 countries.

Uwe Doerken, DHL Worldwide Express chairman and chief executive, commented: "I am convinced that AIESEC is our most direct link to tomorrow's business leaders – so much so that we are making a significant investment in this global partnership.

"We have created 16 two-to-six-month training positions for AIESEC members, which will become a stepping stone for bright, can-do people to join DHL and learn, advance and, one day, lead."

Evrim Sen, AIESEC international president, said: "It has always been our goal to contribute to the development of people and of communities by serving as an agent of positive change in the world through education and cultural exchange. The new relationship with DHL will be a significant boost to our efforts."

Operating in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, DHL intends to take the programme global from its regional starting point, introducing young talent to the company everywhere and across all functions, and significantly increasing the number of positions available.
