Brammer rolls out e-learning in eight languages

Industrial-services group Brammer is using a learning-management system in eight languages to deliver induction programmes and product training to its people throughout Europe.

Brammer has implemented the Kallidus learning-management system (LMS), from UK e-learning technology specialist e2train, in French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Hungarian, Czech and English. e2train supplied translated versions of the software in each required language.

Andrew Morgan, of Brammer, explained: “We required an LMS which could provide us with a wide range of language variants to enable us to roll out a major European-wide e-training and development programme. We considered a range of learning-management systems. However, most of them were quickly ruled out as they were unable to offer the variety of languages we required, either now or in the future. Others offered the functionality we needed, but were out of our price range.”

Kallidus was installed on Brammer’s servers in Manchester for access by 2,000 people throughout Europe. To ensure current employees were LMS users, an automatic data feed was set up between the existing HR database and the Kallidus database. Kallidus is able to deliver urgent product training as well as the induction programme.

Brammer has purchased Kallidus Author, to enable it to produce future e-learning in-house.
