Hornbach selects new e-learning publishing system

Do-it-yourself retail chain Hornbach, with operations in nine European countries, is using a new e-learning publishing system (ELPS) collaboratively to plan, author, review and publish e-learning content.

The company, which has been practising blended learning activities successfully for more than ten years, will use Mohive’s ELPS to transfer process development knowledge and organizational procedures using e-learning modules.

Multi-language support will be a key factor to enable subject matter experts in the foreign branch offices comfortably to produce training content, all under the administrative direction of the training and multimedia department.

Hornbach last year recorded an increase in turnover totalling €2.3 billion, making it the fourth biggest do-it-yourself company in Germany. The firm today employs more than 12,000 people at 92 stores in Germany and 32 in other European countries.

After an initial screening of the ELPS market, Hornbach thoroughly reviewed four systems. It developed a benchmark process that resulted on Mohive being chosen on the basis of quality assurance, online collaboration, usability and multi-language support.
