McDonald's Europe launches private training-certification scheme

McDonald’s Europe has launched its McPassport, which certifies the training and skills that employees have acquired while working for the company. The scheme is designed to make it easier for an employee who has gained skills in a McDonald’s restaurant in one European country to find work in a McDonald’s restaurant in another European state.

Denis Hennequin, McDonald’s Europe president, told a press conference to launch the initiative: “The McPassport is a key element of our continuing effort to improve our standards as an employer. It underlines our commitment to making a job at McDonald’s as fulfilling and rewarding as possible.”

McDonald’s employs more than 225,000 people. It has restaurants in all 25 European Union member states.
