Something old, something new …

Welcome both to a new issue, a new year and a new editor. Having dealt with the new bit, I shall move onto the old, by thanking Christine for her help and support as I take on the mantle of editing this journal. She and her team will be a very hard act to follow.

In this issue, we have an excellent mix of subjects, beginning with a qualitative investigation into the pension consumer decision process followed by a study conducted in Ecuador into sales force attitudes and intention to quit using structural equation modelling. The third paper is concerned with disloyalty, which the researchers found to be the norm amongst SME bank customers in Hong Kong. The last paper is an exploration into the success of financial services development both “new-to-market” and “me-too” among Greek retail financial companies. This issue truly reflects the global scope of research financial services.

I would like to thank the often unsung heroes of the editing process who are, of course, the reviewers who give of their time willingly and offer insightful and formative feedback to authors.

I hope that you find this issue interesting and inspiring. Please send your submissions, preferably electronically, to me (details on the back cover or on the journal home page at www.emeraldinsight.com/ijbm.htm). If you would like to review for the journal, please contact me too.
