Editorial

There is something of a tourism flavour to this edition with an article from Don Getz and Graham Brown on wine tourism in the Okanagan Valley, Canada, and one from Andrew Martin and Geoff McBoyle on Scotland's Malt Whisky trail. This second piece underlines the point that we deal with articles associated with wine in the journal as well as wine itself. We have, over the years, published a number of articles on the marketing of spirits, and, in fact, another article in this issue concerns the marketing of Zivana, a distilled product from Cyprus. This was contributed by Dr Evangelia Blery, who incidentally gained her PhD from my own University of Surrey. From Portugal, Carlos Brito has contributed an article on the economic structure of the Port Wine industry, while from Bordeaux, Pierre Mora has written on the subject of future marketing possibilities for the wines of that area. The final paper is a research note from Carmine Sellitto, a previous contributor, on the most useful subject of improving winery survey response rates.
