Texaco acquires Dow's German coolant business activity

Texaco has announced the signing of an agreement with the Dow Chemical Company to acquire its German automotive coolants business activity. The acquisition provides Texaco with the licence of Dow's coolant technology in Germany and Dow's German customer base. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

For an extended period, Dow will continue to supply monoethylene glycol (MEG) for coolant production to Texaco and make available to Texaco its production facility and technical expertise. Texaco will also work with Dow to ensure continuity in supply and service to current Dow customers.

Commenting on the acquisition, Tom Neslage, Texaco's general manager, worldwide lubricants, coolants and fuels additives, said: "This purchase demonstrates Texaco's commitment to expand its growing and profitable coolants business and the significance of the German coolants market. Our objective is to provide Dow's customers with the high level of service and quality for which Texaco is known worldwide".

Texaco is a leading manufacturer and marketer of automotive and industrial coolants with a major presence in both North and South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Texaco's revolutionary extended life anti-freeze coolant technology has become the new standard for high quality original equipment manufacturers (OEM) first fill and service cooling fluids.
