Farnell has added the Klinger range of gland packings to its industrial catalogue (see Plate 9). Stocking seven types of gland packing material, the Klinger range is available in sizes to suit most pump and valve equipment.

Klinger's Type 10 gland packing is highly versatile being suitable for sealing a wide range of media including water, petroleum and weak acids. Available in cross-sectional sizes from 3.2mm × 8mm to 25mm × 4mm, the Type 10 packing is flexible and clean to handle. For all-round capability in valves and pumps the Type 3222 offers good chemical resistance and high temperature capability. Maintenance engineers requiring a high temperature substitute to asbestos are now able to use Klinger's Type II. Graphited and lubricated, the Type II is able to withstand temperatures of fluids up to 300°C. Together with the packings, Klinger offer a complete range of extraction and cutting tools for their effective removal and fitting.
