Pall Industrial Hydraulics has introduced a new portable system fluid cleanliness counter designated the PFC200, to complement the range of Pall diagnostic equipment. The PFC200 is designed to provide in-line analyses of homogeneous hydraulic and lubricating system fluid cleanliness levels and particle counting across a range of sizes. As part of a proactive maintenance package the PFC 200 will identify changes to the system fluid cleanliness, and at the onset of increased contamination levels corrective actions can be implemented.

The PFC200 samples system fluid via a Pall filter assembly sampling port or other system mounted adapter. All test functions and sample information, can be entered using either the alpha numeric keyboard or alternatively, the bar code reader. Using the bar code generating "shareware" provided with the PFC200, users can prepare routine sampling procedures as bar codes. These codes can be scanned to enter information quickly and consistently into the PFC200.

Selectable fluid cleanliness standards, including IS04406 and NAS1638, are entered at the beginning of each test. Fluid cleanliness level results are displayed on a backlit LCD screen or maybe printed out. A particle count across seven size ranges (>2, >5, >10, >15, >25, >50 and >100 microns) is also provided for each test. Results are displayed and automatically stored in the memory for transfer via the RS232 communications port to a PC for subsequent analyses. Proprietary "PFC Logger" software is also provided for meaningful interpretation of results. The PFC200 can sample fluids at pressures up to 345 bar, viscosities to 500 cSt and temperatures up to 80C. The rugged design weighs only 10 kg and operates on 100-240Vac mains power supply or from its own 12Vdc battery. All related components including hoses are stored within the unit or in the tough carrying case supplied.
