A new generation of non-chlorinated coolant

A new generation of non-chlorinated coolant

Keywords: Master Chemical Europe, Coolants

The primary applications, for which the new TRIM C275 synthetic coolant has been formulated, are the high speed turning and milling of ferrous metals (see Plate 1). However, thanks to its excellent extreme pressure (EP) lubricity, this new synthetic coolant from Master Chemical Europe can also be used for grinding, drilling, tapping and reaming operations without the need for chlorine or sulphur-based EP additives. TRIM C275 has been developed from the proven TRIM C270 cutting and grinding fluid. In common with its forerunner, the new addition also exhibits good tramp-oil rejection and produces little or no foam, mist or odour.

This new fluid concentrate is compatible with a very wide range of materials including cast iron, steels, copper alloys, plastics and composites. It also inhibits corrosion on all common ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The use of TRIM C275 continuously improves production efficiency. It keeps machines clean whilst leaving a soft, resoluble fluid film that protects internal workings and minimises the build-up of sticky residues which can harbour damaging, abrasive chips.

An important benefit of TRIM C275 is extremely low carry-off which maximises coolant return to the sump and contributes to low operating costs. Carry-off is further minimised by the use of de-ionised water to dilute the concentrate, a factor which also enhances sump life and corrosion inhibition.

TRIM C275 is supplied in 20-litre pails and 204-litre drums.
