The Gleitmo range of products for the lubrication of screws and threaded components is now being distributed in the UK by speciality chemical manufacturer McGean following an agency agreement between the company and RJ Mellor/Fuchs Lubritech.

The range consists of assembly pastes, hot screw pastes, HMP films, dry solid film water based lubricants. The products are designed to assist fastener manufacturers and their customers by providing more efficient thread lubrication and protection. Gleitmo has already earned an industry-wide reputation for being able to meet the needs of fastener manufacturers through its ability to handle most of the problems associated with fastener and torque tension performance by reducing the coefficient of friction to design requirements.

Gleitmo products are solvent free, easy to apply, offer very good surface adhesion on all materials, are water based and provide a dry, tack-free, abrasion resistant lubricating surface film. A selection of corrosion inhibitors is also available for the protection of all materials. These products absorb water vapour and chemically change it to form an invisible film on all metallic surfaces. They do not require any application removal and do not interfere with any other process.

The applications covered by Gleitmo products are equally extensive, with special emphasis on the automotive sector. The mass coating and lubrication of rivets, self-tapping or self-forming screws, nuts, wood screws, chipboard screws, cap nuts, etc., plus most screws used in the electrical industry, can be undertaken using immersion techniques. Hot air drying is required as the final process stage.
