In this issue we are pleased to include work from researchers in Spain, Germany, Brazil, Malaysia, Turkey and Iran. Many different aspects of tribology are covered and we think this wide range will provide interest and some discussion amongst readers.

As mentioned in previous issues of Industrial Lubrication and Tribology attending relevant conferences can be very rewarding as often this may be the only way to discover others are working in your particular field of interest. Of course it is always nice to be able to meet our authors and contributors and hear of any new ideas or improvements readers would like to see in ILT.

However, there are many conferences each year and it is not possible for all to be attended. We get feedback on the larger gatherings of STLE and ELGI for example but we do not get to hear much about the smaller conferences where often some very high quality work is presented and discussed.

We are always interested in promoting all tribology gatherings and will also welcome any comments and reports on conferences you have attended and have considered worthwhile.

Let us know of conferences in your area and if possible your views of them as a delegate.
