Intertronics – fine mist lubricant system

Article Type: New products From: Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, Volume 61, Issue 2

The precision liquid dispensing specialists at Intertronics have introduced a new lubricant application system from I&J Fisnar for machine parts that require constant lubricating of their surface areas, such as gears and rollers – these can now be serviced by the use of a precision IJF SV1217 Spray Valve and programmable controller IJF SVC100 (Figure 4) which precisely directs a fine mist of lubricant to the moving part using time and pressure sequencing and can keep pace with fast revolving machinery up to 400 cycles per minute while accommodating lubricant viscosities up to 1,000 cps.

Controlling the relationship between the lubricant start signal and the misting signal allows the lubricant line pressure to start momentarily after the misting pressure initiates, reversing the process at the end of the cycle. This sequencing ensures a non-clogging system that provides consistency and material savings together with reducing maintenance and down time.

The IJF SV1217 Spray Valve provides close tolerance spray dispensing of fluids up to 1,000 cps, including urethanes, flux and paints. The material is fed from a pressure reservoir. Each valve is actuated by air pressure sequenced by a controller. The operating air pressure opens a needle valve allowing material to flow; a separate air line creates pressure in the air cap, atomising the fluid. The IJF SV1217 is adjustable by turning the stroke-adjust control at the rear of the valve; this will tune the spray pattern.
