China Yaskawa to increase China robot production
In response to thriving investment in China by Japanese-affiliated automakers, Yaskawa Electric will embark on increased production of industrial robots at its JV in Beijing. Monthly output for this fiscal year is 10 units, but from next fiscal year the facility will turn out more than triple the robots, ranging between 30-50 units a month. The company is also preparing to boost production of robots and controllers in the USA and Europe. By strengthening its overseas networks, Yaskawa Electric aims to expand consolidated net sales from robot businesses by FY2000 to between 70-80 billion yen, or 50 per cent-60 per cent higher than FY96 net sales.
