Acuity Imaging, a Robotic Vision Systems Inc. company (RVSI)(NASDAQ National Market System ­ ROBV), has announced that it has acquired Trigon Technologies, Inc., a privately held company in Farmington Hills, MI, for $3.0 million in cash. Acuity Imaging Inc. is a leading supplier of multi-purpose 2-D machine vision systems. Trigon markets a line of 2-D machine vision products for the semiconductor industry and is a major supplier to RVSI's Systemation Engineered Products subsidiary along with other semiconductor OEM's. Pat V. Costa, RVSI's president, chairman and CEO, stated: "This is an important acquisition for RVSI. In addition to the cost savings associated with acquiring a key supplier to Systemation, Trigon provides us with the opportunity for synergistic benefits in products, markets and technology, not only in our RVSI Electronics business, but in our Acuity Imaging subsidiary's 2-D machine vision business as well."
