Motoman's SK45 robot ideal for material handling applications

The six-axis SK45 robot achieves high performance in material handling applications. With an IP65 rating (protection against water and dust) for its wrist, the SK45 is a flexible solution that handles workpieces under adverse conditions, such as machine load/unload applications. The SK45 robot is also ideal for spot welding, material cutting, material removal, and arc welding applications.

With a payload capacity of 45 Kg (99.2lb) and an increased wrist torque, the SK45 is a strong and rugged manipulator. Its slim base, waist, and arm design reduce potential interference areas to provide improved part accessibility. The SK45 has a maximum reach of 1,787mm (70.35in), is repeatable to ±0.15mm (±0.006in), and can be floor, ceiling, or wall mounted.

The SK45 robot is controlled by Motoman's 32-bit, RISC (reduced instruction set computing) architecture MRC controller. This high-performance, easy-to-use controller offers menu-driven application-specific software for material handling, spot welding, material cutting, arc welding, or general purpose applications.

The industrial-proven MRC controller also features digital signal processors (DSP) for increased computational speed and AC servo technology for highly reliable, increased performance. An ergonomically designed programming pendant is included with the MRC and features a 12-line, 40-character liquid crystal display (LCD).
