Prosolvia Systems, the Gothenburg-headquartered international industrial simulation company, has opened a UK sales, customer support and demonstration centre in Leicester for its new and revolutionary industrial simulation concept, Digital Plant Technology. The new facility is located at 160 Upper New Walk, Leicester, UK. Tel: 0116 254 1708; Fax: 0116 255 6777, and is managed by UK Sales Manager Alan Mawdsley.
Digital Plant Technology is being hailed by users evaluating it as one of the most practical means of increasing production efficiency. Easy to use, it takes industrial simulation out of the domain of the engineer, brings it to the shopfloor, and makes it suitable for use by management. The concept combines within a single infrastructure all the disciplines needed to design, program and manage a plant. It enables a user to build, quickly and easily, an accurate and realistic working 3D simulation of a manufacturing plant, a model that links and interacts with the real plant itself. Within this Digital Plant, the user can design and optimise the facility, try out "what if" production scenarios, program the machinery and manage the plant all without needing any high-level programming skills and before any investment is made.
Unlike existing simulation packages, which operate under UNIX, Digital Plant Technology operates on a PC under Windows NT and has a correspondingly low implementation cost. It is expected to become an everyday tool within manufacturing industry.
