A heavy duty assembly manipulator designed specifically for the automated production of large metallic fabrications has been added to the range of precision indexing equipment offered by Midlands-based Expert UK Ltd.
Capable of handling loads up to 1500 kg, the new unit provides a 4-axis capability which enables components to be presented at precisely the correct orientation for automatic TIG and MIG welding operations (see Plate 4).
Plate 4 Expert's new heavy duty assembly manipulator has been designed specifically for the automated production of large metallic fabrications, such as commercial vehicle cabs or spaceframes. It has a 4-axis capability and will handle loads of up to 1500kg
It is ideal for automotive industry applications, such as the assembly of commercial vehicle cabs or spaceframes, and will accommodate components up to 3,000mm × 2,000mm × 2,400mm with out of balance loads of up to 750 Nm.
The new unit is supplied with a lift travel of 1,500mm as standard, and complements the range of welding manipulators, precision indexing drives and assembly line transfer equipment available through Expert's UK headquarters in Coventry.
