Adept Technology, Inc. has announced its selection of Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd as its imaging hardware vendor for Adept's next generation Adept vision product. Matrox's hardware technology will provide Adept with an excellent platform for its Adept vision toolbox and specifically for ObjectFinder, Adept's advanced vision tool for flexible feeding and robot guidance applications.

Adept Technology pioneered robot guidance vision 13 years ago and its systems serve the automotive, electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, medical, appliance and food processing industries. Matrox will supply Adept with new state-of-the-art vision hardware that will be incorporated into Adept controllers and combined with Adept's patent pending ObjectFinder vision tool. This will in turn deliver robust machine vision systems. These systems will strengthen Adept's vision leadership role by supplementing their current vision system's guidance capabilities with additional technology.
