Sertec Group invests in plasma

Keywords: Plasma, Cutting

Sertec Group Holdings Ltd has announced the purchase of Andover based Contour Cutting Technologies, enabling them to provide plasma cutting technology alongside their extensive specialist presswork capability.

The technology has been "on trial" for a number of months at Sertec's Panel Technology site at Hinckley, Leicestershire, and so impressed was group managing director, Graham Mosedale, that he bought the company!

"We have been monitoring the development of plasma cutting technology for a number of years now, so when the opportunity arose to try the very latest system for ourselves we jumped at the chance", commented Mosedale.

"So successful were our trials and the relationships we built with the designers, we felt that it would be of benefit to all parties if we brought the company into our fold. We are able to contribute greatly to the further investment in the system and by bringing the company to Hinckley, the technology can sit alongside our existing presswork facility as an additional service to our customers."

With a continuing need to reduce costs in an ever-changing industry, Sertec now provide an all in one service in pressing and cutting, suitable for all projects from prototyping to high volume automotive body parts (see Plate 1).
