SIG Pack to utilize Adept controllers for new packaging system

Adept Technology, Inc., USA's largest manufacturer of industrial robots and, it is claimed, a factory automation leader, has announced it has completed the shipment of SIG Pack Ltd's initial order of Adept controllers for their next generation robotic packaging systems. SIG Pack, a leading provider of packaging machines and systems based in Switzerland, selected Adept to provide the controllers that will play a key role in their new automated packaging system. The new automation solution will include Adept's AdeptMotion VME controllers with integrated vision and conveyor tracking.
Adept has completed its shipment of SIG Pack's initial order of AdeptMotion 1060 controllers with integrated AdeptVision VXL. The product will be utilized in SIG Pack's new highly efficient packaging system, which will be utilised by major food, health care, electronic and consumer goods manufacturers to package a wide variety of products at ultra fast pick rates.
AdeptMotion VME controllers offer advanced motion features combined with machine vision, conveyor tracking, force sensing, and AdeptWindows PC software. Kinematic modules allow simple programming of complex mechanisms while supporting tool offsets, world co-ordinates, and other advanced robot functions. Multiple robots can be co-ordinated from one controller. All AdeptMotion controls support Adept's most advanced options including AIM, vision, and force.
