A new range of grippers with a guaranteed life expectancy, and with the option of field repair, has been launched by pneumatics expert Norgren (see Plate 3).

A core range of 36 products, from two- and three-jaw versions and with a choice of angular or parallel grippers, is now available at competitive prices.

Plate 3 A new range of grippers with a guaranteed life expectancy has been launched by pneumatics expert Norgren

Liz Fairweather, Norgren's market development manager, said:

Our new range provides customers with benefits not available from other grippers on the market. In particular, the products in the new range have specially treated surfaces which makes them resistant to abrasion and scratching – ideal for use in food production applications.

Other benefits unique to the new range are:

  • Higher grip force capability than equivalent products on the market. This means that a smaller Norgren gripper is capable of performing functions that would have traditionally required a larger product.

  • Application versatility. The new grippers are interchangeable between applications, which means that the same product can be used for a range of applications.

  • Longer life expectancy. The new grippers are expected to perform a minimum of 10 million cycles before needing attention. In addition, all Norgren grippers come with a two-year warranty.

  • Field repairability. This is one of only a few gripper ranges on the market in the UK that can be repaired in situ by the customer's maintenance engineers where necessary.
