Epson acquires industrial robot operation of Seiko Instruments USA

Seiko Epson of Japan and its subsidiary Epson America Inc. (EAI) have acquired the industrial robot operation of Seiko Instruments USA (SII) in the process of the reshuffling Seiko group business. All the employees, asset and software developments of SII were transferred to Epson and EAI as of 4 September.
Epson and SII belong to the same Seiko (the world's largest watch company) group and have been cooperating in the area of robotic business by developing new products, mutually supplying robots on OEM basis and allocating sales territory.
