Kawada Industry announced that Kawada, in co-development with Inoue-Inaba Laboratory of University of Tokyo, have developed a humanoid robot for research purpose.
This ISAMU robot is 1.5m in height, 55kg in weight. Although it does not perform autonomous bi-pod walking it can walk with variable speed (up to 2km/hr) set by joystick, climb up and down over a staircase (up to 25cm step height) and grasp an object with maximum weight of 2kg. It will be used for research of human interactive motion control in which human being and machine system work together.
