International Symposium on Robotics

The International Symposium on Robotics is held annually under the sponsorship of IFR. It is one of the world's most authoritative symposia on robotics.

Aim of ISR

Provide professionals with updated information on important aspects on robotics and computer based automation of manufacturing. Provide liaison among industry, government and education in identifying areas for further development and introduction of new technologies. Encourage the design and application of fully integrated manufacturing facilities.

Welcome to ISR 2002

SWIRA, Swedish Industrial Robot Association has the pleasure to invite all IFR member Associations and Supporting members to the ISR 2002 in Stockholm, Sweden. This symposium will focus on Robot-based automation and Industrial IT, a combination which creates new dimensions interrelationship between Supply Chain and Costumer Relations Management. The transformation from the earlier way of doing business to the new e-business environment enables enterprises to bring new innovative and profitable solutions to the market in collaboration with partners.

Colloborative Product Commerce has to cover the overall product lifecycle, which can be looked upon as three interconnected processes: the Product Lifecycle, the Production Lifecycle and the Operations Support Lifecycle.

Web-based solutions and wireless communication functions are going to speed up the flow of information and materials through the enterprises in a way never before seen by us. The robots themselves, too will benefit from these emerging technologies. It is therefore of greatest importance that researchers, industrial robot manufacturers and industrial IT providers work closely together and integrate their know-how. Together, we can create seamless and real-time solutions for all kinds of operations.

We invite you to ISR 2002 to learn, analyze and discuss the scientific and market perspectives also from the management point of view. The evolving e-transformation will have a great impact on enterprises, societies, our work and social life.

Conference goals

By exending a traditional ISR Technology & Research program with seminar blocks focusing on Market & Industry development as well as Management & Applications, our main goal is to increase number of contributions and participants from IFR Supporting members and the Industry.

Another important goal is to explore new robot functions and robot system solutions driven by Industrial IT, global and local wireless communication, e-commerce and digital plant technology.

Exhibition

The Scandinavian Technical Fair in Stockholm has been Northern Europe's leading industry for more than 40 years and is highly respected by global exhibitors and visitors.

Business amounting to billions of Swedish kronor is initiated each year. Seven sections make Scandinavian Technical Fair time and cost-effective for both exhibitors and visitors:

  • Machine Tools 2002

  • Robot-based Automation with Industrial IT

  • Welding Forum

  • Industrial Technology

  • The Future

  • CadExpo

  • Industry on the Net
