Cleaner work handling on robots with new high precision electric gripper and no need for airlines

Leader Grippers has the ideal solution for design engineers using robots and similar automated machinery when a clean environment for work handling tasks is demanded.
The problem-solver is a new range of electrically powered grippers (Plate 1) developed by German workholding engineer, Sommer Automatic.
The electric gripper is a robust, precision instrument, featuring a potentiometer to adjust the gripping force rather than less accurate pneumatic controls.
As the device does not require a pneumatic supply, the risk of contamination from the dust and fluids generated by airlines is eliminated.
Simplicity of installation is an essential feature. The gripper assembly includes a DIN rail-mounting controller. Simply wire it into your PLC for immediate operation.
Designated Model GED, the product has impressive characteristics for a unit of such compact size and lightweight.

The three-jaw GED comes in four sizes, with the choice of T-slot style jaws for larger loads or sealed round guide jaws for applications that require protection against the ingress of dust and dirt.
Gripping forces range up to 360N and the open/close time is just 0.2 seconds. The model is designed with various mounting options. A 24V supply is the standard power requirement, although a 12V supply can be specified if required.
