IFR Secretariat moves
The Secretariat of the IFR has moved to Paris, France following a decision by the executive committee to rotate it between member countries. It had been in Sweden since 1987 when the Federation was established. It will now change according to an 8 year cycle which, says current Secretary-General Herman Verbugge, is sufficient time for a member country to develop and evolve the Federation's activities. "By rotating the secretariat, all countries and regions will feel more involved," he comments. In Paris, the secretariat will be located at the Symap, France's Manufacturing Technologies Association.
