Robot companies create European trade association

Robot companies create European trade association

Keywords: Robots, Trade associations

Major robot companies have established Eunited Robotics, a European Robotics Association. Founder members include robot suppliers and system integrators such as ABB, Comau, Fanuc, Güdel, KUKA and Reis. The role of the new association is to act as a platform for cooperation between all those in the industry, ranging from research institutes to national associations and customers. Furthermore, EUnited Robotics will establish close contacts with the European Union, representing the robot manufacturers' and system integrators' view on industry issues and R&D policy. EUnited Robotics is making arrangements to become a member of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).

At the founding meeting of Eunited Robotics, held at the Automatica exhibition in Frankfurt, Stefan Müller (KUKA) was elected President of the new association for a period of 2 years. Vice-president is Kai Wärn (ABB). The acting Managing Director is Thilo Brodtmann, VDMA Robotics+Automation.
