Title: Method and device for processing a moving production part, particularly a vehicle bodyPatent number: US2006015211Publication date: 19 January 2006Applicant: Kolb Thomas (DE); Kraus Helmut (DE); Stahs Thomas (DE)

Keywords: Automotive industry, Patents

A method for processing a moving workpiece, in particular a vehicle body which is moved using of a conveyor belt. A processing tool is used which is attached to the hand of a robot and comprises a sensor system which is permanently connected to the processing tool and has at least one sensor. During the processing, the processing tool follows the moving workpiece. This following movement is based on a closed-loop control process in which the processing tool is oriented periodically towards reference areas of the moving workpiece using measured data of the sensor system. The measured data of the sensor system is compared with setpoint data which is generated within the scope of a set up phase of the processing tool, and a movement vector of the processing tool is calculated from the difference between the measured values and setpoint data using a Jacobi matrix calculated within the scope of the set up phase, the processing tool being moved by an amount equal to said movement vector. This process is repeated in a control loop.

Title: SPOT WELDING EQUIPMENTPatent number: JP2005334945Publication date: 8 December 2005Applicant: Fanuc Ltd

Problem to be solved: to provide spot welding equipment capable of easily setting and changing the welding condition in which a plurality of weld points are spot-welded by a plurality of robots connected to one work such as a vehicle body through communication lines.

Solution: the welding definition data and the welding condition data to indicate the material and the thickness of a work, and the type of a welding gun or welding equipment are set for any one of robots, and welding is performed. The cycle time is measured to obtain the evaluation data. Unless the same welding definition data is stored in a memory, the welding definition, the condition and the evaluation data are stored. When the same welding definition data is stored, and the current evaluation data is more excellent than the previous data, the welding condition data and the evaluation data stored in the memory to be stored in the memory are changed to the current evaluation data, and transmitted to each robot. Each robot stores the welding condition data and the evaluation data corresponding to the welding definition data. Each robot performs the welding under the welding condition with constantly high evaluation. Setting of the data is finished one time.

Title: Arc welding device and arc welding robot systemPatent number: US2006070985Publication date: 6 April 2006Applicant: Fanuc Ltd

An arc welding device, having a simple structure, in which a welding torch does not interfere with external equipment. A Y-shaped torch cable includes first and second wire liners and a junction block having a Y-shaped liner section having two inlets connected to the wire liners and one outlet. A welding wire selectively fed from one of two wire feeders extends in the first or second wire liner and reaches the outlet of the liner section. Therefore, as one of plural kinds of welding wires may be selected and fed to a single-electrode welding torch, the plurality of welding wires being used for welding, nevertheless the welding torch does not interfere with external equipment.

Title: System and method for fabricating or repairing a partPatent number: US7020539Publication date: 28 March 2006Applicant: Southern Methodist University (US)

According to one embodiment of the invention, a system for fabricating a part includes a computer operable to control the fabrication of a three- dimensional part using a solid CAD model, a deposition station operable to deposit successive two-dimensional layers of material to fabricate the three-dimensional part, and a machining station operable to remove at least a portion of one or more of the deposited two-dimensional layers of material. The deposition station includes a substrate on which to fabricate the three-dimensional part, a welding-based deposition system having a welding torch, a laser-based deposition system having a laser head, a plasma powder cladding system having a plasma torch, and a multi- axis robot operable to, when directed by the computer, utilize one of the welding-based deposition system, laser- based deposition system, and plasma powder cladding system to deposit any of the two-dimensional layers of material. The machining station includes a multi-axis milling machine and an automatic tool changer. The milling machine is operable to, when directed by the computer, select from a plurality of machining tools associated with the automatic tool changer for use in the milling machine.

Title: Electric arc welding robot and electric arc welding methodPatent number: RU2266179Publication date: 20 December 2005Applicant: Soron Zhan (FR); Gon Zhil (FR)

Field: welding processes and equipment, namely electric arc welding of rail zone. Substance: welding robot includes movable torch, first unit for controlling torch motion, second unit for automatic control of torch motion. First control unit provides motion of torch along perimeter of welded zone and it is designed foe reading data related to geometry places of welding in said zone by means of reader connected with memory device for storing read data. Second automatic control unit provides motion of torch along welded zone in range of data reading and as function of geometry welding places according to data stored in memory device. Effect: enhanced efficiency of welding rail due to detection of concrete conditions necessary for it.
