Industrial USB joystick offers easy-to-integrate, fingertip control
Abacus has introduced a new industrial joystick (Figure 4) featuring a USB interface, offering a responsive, accurate and easy to integrate control interface to the growing number of Microsoft Windows and Windows Embedded- based applications in this environment. The joystick allows industrial systems developers to easily and simply offer operators a user interface experience that is as intuitive and easy to use as that of popular computer games.

The CH Products IP Desktop USB joystick readily integrates with any software application recognizing joystick inputs via Microsoft's DirectX. It provides fingertip control via a three- axis hall effect joystick with two buttons on top. The housing offers an additional ten programmable buttons. The joystick is self-centering, and the housing is made of high impact, glass-filled nylon for maximum durability.
Abacus also offers CH Products IP Desktop Software, an optional utility that creates a joystick-mouse combination device and allows users to toggle between the devices at the press of a button. The software also creates a fourth joystick axis, “R.” IP Desktop Software is designed to work with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
