Stäubli Robotics announces the new TX200 heavy payload robot

Article Type: New products From: Industrial Robot: An International Journal, Volume 36, Issue 3

Stäubli Robotics manufacturers of innovative and technologically advanced industrial and cleanroom robots, has announced the introduction of a new heavy payload robot; the TX200 (Figure 2). The TX200 and TX200L are the next generation of standard and long-reach high-performance material handling robots featuring impressive speed, rigidity and load capacities ranging from 100 to 130 kg and a maximum reach of 2,194-2,594 mm.

These new robots have 6 degrees of freedom, a fully enclosed structure for easy cleaning, and impressive 12.5 m/s high-speed motion. The robots are suitable for a wide variety of industrial and cleanroom applications including material handling, palletizing, pick and place, and machine loading/unloading.

All Stäubli robots come equipped with the CS8 controller, the industry’s most technologically advanced robot controller ideally suited for applications requiring complex process control. The CS8 controller utilizes the VAL3 programming language which is perfectly adapted to robotics and features numerous possibilities to communicate with the outside world including Fieldbus, Ethernet, and ModBus.

“We have high expectations for the TX200 which will make its US premiere at the Assembly Technology Expo in Rosemont, IL on September 23-25, 2008. This new robot will be a great complement to our robot line in the 100 kg payload range as its very fast, precise, compact and reliable. The TX200 will find great acceptance in the automotive, semiconductor/photovoltaic, food, plastics, and machine tending markets”, says Mr Manfred Hübschmann, World Sales Manager at Stäubli Robotics.
