is the recipient of the Journal's Outstanding Paper Award for Excellence for his paper
“Global managers: career orientation, career tracks, life-style implication and career commitment”
which appeared in Journal of Managerial Psychology, Vol. 18 No. 3, 2003
Vesa Suutari is Professor of International Management at the University of Vaasa, Finland. He also acts as a Head of Department of Management and Organization, which has been nominated as the Centre of Excellence of University Education for 2004-2006 by the Finnish Ministry of Education.
In his research, Suutari has specialised on cross-cultural management and international human resource management. His current research interests include individual development during international work experiences, global leadership, global careers, self-initiated international work experiences, international knowledge transfers through human resources, diversity management and global integration of HRM within MNCs. His research work has been published in various international journals such as International Journal of Human Resource Management, Personnel Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, Scandinavian Journal of Management, Journal of World Business and Career Development International.
