This is regarded as an excellent introduction to the e‐business world, despite the unfortunate use of the word “revolution” which has been in use since the early 1950s. The rate of advancement of technology is such that almost every day a “revolution” seems to occur. Not so catching is the word “advancement”. This text looks at some of the current business activities that revolve around the advances in e‐systems. There are rather sparse descriptions in some cases, but enough to tell readers what is happening. Anyone requiring a full technical appraisal of current systems should look elsewhere. It is suitable, however, for business and company directors and their managerial staffs. It does, however, provide many case examples of electronic business and provides the quick summary and easily read briefing the business executive now expects to have to “put him/her in the picture”, as they would say. A book which outlines where so many companies have failed in embracing these systems and also one that highlights the many which have failed in the introduction and use of e‐business systems would also be welcome. Even so, the book remains a useful acquisition for those in the world of business.
