Changes to the Kybernetes Editorial Advisory Board

Article Type: News, conferences and technical reports From: Kybernetes, Volume 39, Issue 1

As a result of the death of Professor Manea Mănescu who had served on the Editorial Advisory Board for many decades and the retirement of Professor Johannes (Hans) van der Zouwen new appointments are being made to this important advisory body. Details will be published in coming issues.

Professor Vallée has already, in his obituary for Dr Mănescu described his contribution to WOSC and this was matched by his support for this journal and the guidance he has offered to the editors over so many years.

Professor van der Zouwen is an Emeritus Professor of Social Research methodology, currently at the VU University’s Faculty of Social Sciences Department of Social Research Methodology in Amsterdam. He has always been a staunch supporter and prolific contributor since this journal was founded by Professor John Rose, its first Editor. During his 33 years of service to Kybernetes the publishers, the Editorial team and the readers have held his contributions in very high regard. In particular over the years, he has brought the ideas and theories of social sciences researches and developments to a wide audience and linked his work to cybernetics and systems in a profitable way.

We offer him our thanks for his support and inspiration and wish him a happy retirement with the opportunity to devote more time to his hobbies of music and the history of art.
