Heraeus Sensor Technology launched as new name for platinum thin-film sensors business

Heraeus Sensor-Nite GmbH, a subsidiary of the globally active precious metals and technology group HeTaeus Holding-GmbH, will now operate under the name Heraeus Sensor Technology GmbH.
In October 2002, Heraeus Sensor-Nite acquired the platinum thin-film sensors product line from the "Temperature" division of ABB Automation Products GmbH, known as "Sensycon". In the meantime, the merger of Heraeus Sensor-Nite and Sensycon has been completed successfully. Under the management of Dr Martin Turwitt, the integrated company will immediately operate under the name of Heraeus Sensor Technology.
As a direct subsidiary of Heraeus Electro-Nite (Sensors Division), Heraeus Sensor Technology is a competence center for platinum thin-film sensors within the Heraeus Group. Typical applications for such sensors include the measurement of temperature, flow, humidity or gas. Progressive materials technology makes it possible to cover temperatures ranging from −200 to +1,000°C. Major applications are the automotive industry, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry, electronics, the white goods market and life science.

With 158 employees worldwide and annual revenues of 10 million, Heraeus Sensor Technology concentrates on the production and distribution of sensors based on platinum thin-film technology and the initial stages for processing such elements further.
