Bookham appoints AMS Technologies as pan-European distributor

Bookham, Inc. has expanded its existing agreement with AMS Technologies AG to distribute its components to the telecommunications market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Munich-based AMS will now be distributing all of the Bookham industry-leading telecommunications components to customers in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland. Paul Morris, European Sales Director at Bookham said: “The ongoing evolution within the European telecomm and datacomm industry dictates that the sales channels used by optical components vendors must be respected, technically astute and highly motivated.”

Now they can offer complete solutions combining Bookham products with their existing complementary portfolio, ensuring an excellent and growing business.”
Representatives from AMS Technologies' Munich facility are already working closely with the Bookham applications engineering team in order to develop a full understanding of the company and its products. The portfolio includes state- of-the-art transmitters, receivers, erbium-doped fibre amplifiers (EDFAs), transponders, transceivers and the recently released range of tunable laser-based devices.
“Representing Bookham in all the countries we cover in Europe brings customers the benefit of joined purchasing power in combination with local application support”, said Judith Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of AMS Technologies. “Our complementary product portfolio and knowledge of the local market means that we are well-positioned to both support existing and establish new business relationships for Bookham.”
