BBC bags fresh produce
The number of ingredients to make the dishes shown in the BBC's programme Ready Steady Cook have recently been introduced by the Williamson Food Company. Each bag contains up to 20 portion controlled ingredients which form the basis of the dish. All customers have to do is to buy their own choice of meat, fish or poultry and follow the simple step-by-step instructions to create a sophisticated meal for two. The bags are expected to tempt the most reluctant cooks into their kitchens. The recipe bags will sell for between £3.99 and £4.99 and the Williams company forecasts that sales will be in excess of five million units in the first year. They will be sold in the fresh produce departments and have a shelf life, under refrigerated conditions, of five days. Inititally there will be four recipe kits: Mexican tuna or sirloin beef; Jamaican chicken or pork loins; French lamb or pork fillets and Italian chicken or pork loin.
