New product information – hypoallergenic infant formula
Nan HA, a partially hydrolysed, nutritionally complete infant formula is an affordable, palatable and effective hypoallergenic infant formula now available in the UK. It is for the feeding of healthy infants who are at risk of developing allergy and, whose mothers are unable to, or choose not to breastfeed.
Several short and long term studies of allergy prevention in high risk infants have shown that Nan HA, if used exclusively in non-breastfed infants, decreases incidence of allergic diseases and cow's milk protein allergy by up to 50 per cent during the first three to five years of life, when compared with standard cow's milk formula or soy protein formula.
Nan HA 1 starter formula, suitable for babies from birth and Nan HA 2 follow on formula with iron, for babies from six months old are both available in independent pharmacies.
