Article Type: Food facts From: Nutrition & Food Science, Volume 39, Issue 2.

The International Scientific Conference on Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods will be held June 2009, in Slovakia, the geographical heartland of Europe.

The mission of food and function in 2009 is to provide a comprehensive international scientific forum to all stakeholders of nutraceuticals and functional foods. The three day conference is the key worldwide networking event for scientists, researchers, product developers, industry participants and regulatory authorities committed to health and science. Participants will gain first hand information about current advances in nutraceuticals and functional food science, clinical trials and product developments. Safety and regulatory issues will be addressed as well.

The conference will be organised in a series of thematically ordered sessions. Contributions to the conference will be strictly evaluated by the Scientific Committee in order to ensure high level of scientific and/or practical quality and relevance. All contributions accepted will be assigned to a specific session. All contributions accepted and presented at the conference will be included with the official Conference Proceedings and published in a peer-reviewed journal.
