Talis joins Blackboard Developer Network

Talis Information, a UK market leader in technology solutions for academic and public libraries, has joined forces with Blackboard Inc., a leading enterprise software company for e-education, to break down barriers between library information and course management systems. Through TalisList, a resource list management product, students and course designers working on a course in Blackboard can link directly to the prescribed resources supporting their course. Now, as part of the Blackboard Developer Network, work will accelerate around enhanced links between the Blackboard Learning System and TalisList, and extensions to add other library services to the learning environment. Talis Information is a long-established supplier of innovative products for academic (and public) libraries. It actively participated in projects such as the JISC-funded DELIVER (www.angel.ac.uk/library/4i/), which investigated ways of integrating digital library functionality within virtual learning environments.

De Montfort University chooses TalisList

De Montfort University (DMU), a participant in the JISC-funded DELIVER project, has chosen TalisList for its resource list management system. After an evaluation of four different software tools for producing these lists, DMU fully assessed the installation, implementation and creation of reading/resource lists through TalisList. With the project now ended, the University decided that TalisList was the resource list management system best suited to its needs for ongoing use.TalisList is the top-selling reading list management system in the UK. Now installed in over 30 institutions, it is available to users of Talis and non-Talis library management systems.

Talis inVisage chosen to unlock "The Edinburgh Room"

Talis Information has announced that Edinburgh City Libraries have purchased Talis inVisage, a content management system, to deliver the contents of The Edinburgh Room – the definitive collection of published material on the City of Edinburgh both past and present – to the Web. inVisage has been chosen to manage a selection of the 30,000 items held by Edinburgh City Libraries, including prints, drawings, photographs and paintings.
