Spies Hecker looks to future with new £1m training centre

Keywords Spies Hecker, Training

To mark the entry into its second decade, automotive refinish paint manufacturer Spies Hecker officially opened a purpose built training centre. This £1m state-of-the-art facility is based at the company's UK headquarters in Chadwell Heath, Essex and is one of 58 training centres around the world.

The centre, which has over two years' planning behind it, covers more than 1,000 square metres of land and offers first class training facilities. It features two full sized vehicle spray booths, one of which can be programmed to adjust the volume of air being passed through it from 15,000m3 of air per hour to 33,000m3. Therefore it is able to duplicate conditions found in most spray booths in the UK.

The training centre also contains a colour matching booth and two large mixing rooms, with the Color-Dialog system being a central part of the colouristic training area. With the call for modern day refinishers to become more and more high tech, Spies Hecker's training centre is exceedingly well equipped to provide advanced facilities with the further advantage of top class professional, experienced trainers.

Currently Spies Hecker's syllabus offers six different courses, all tailored to provide up-to-the-minute training to refinishing personnel who have chosen its advanced paint technology products for their bodyshops. Course subjects include: Local repair; Product technology (parts one and two); Colour college; Advanced colour college; and Problem solving.
