Videojet reports that its new 16-2560 white inorganic pigmented ink, in addition to providing a superior performance for wire and cable applications, has a nine month shelf life. The new addition also claims a wider temperature range of 12-45C, making it a suitable choice for applications in hot conditions.

The increasing popularity of PE – polyethylene – jackets for cable and wire has resulted in the need for an ink that adheres better to this type of substrate. Accordingly, Videojet has developed the 16-2560 that it believes exceeds the capabilities of the current industry standards.

The ketone-based white ink claims excellent opacity on dark substrates and a fast drying time of one to two seconds. In addition to wire and cable applications, the Videojet ink is thought to be ideal for coding and marking onto a variety of moulded plastic and dark glass substrates.
