Energy specialist EA Technology has produced a free video to update industrial users on the latest sale of transverse flux induction heating (TFX) equipment for processing thin metal strip (Plate 15).

Plate 15 Transverse flux heating of thin metal strips claims major advantages for users

The three-minute VHS film features the latest of 12 installations worldwide to demonstrate how the patented TFX technology offers major advantages over conventional radiant and gas heating, and longitudinal induction heating.

"Transverse flux induction heating is a proven technique that is increasingly recognised as the most efficient way to heat both ferrous and nonferrous metal strip, in a very wide range of applications", said EA Technology's Danny Connaughton. He continued, "It has advantages in terms of speed, energy efficiency, compactness, low capital cost, versatility and the metallurgical properties it imparts to materials".

The video shows how TFX has been proven in industrial applications ranging from annealing and furnace boosting, to paint curing. Temperatures of up to 850°C are achievable on strip of various gauges and widths.

EA Technology offers potential users a full testing and evaluation service to assess the suitability of TFX for specific uses.
