Schenectady International acquires DSM's phenolic resins product line
Schenectady International Inc. said that it has acquired DSM Coating Resins Europe B.V.'s phenolic resin product line, which includes phenolic resins used for internal and external can-coating applications. Terms were not disclosed. Schenectady International said that its Bethune, France, facility has been producing the resins on a toll basis for DSM for the past several years. The company said that the acquisition strengthens its position as a major phenolic-resin supplier to the coatings industry.
“This acquisition, along with our new REZILITE colorless phenolic resin product, is an indication of Schenectady's commitment to growth and new-product development in the phenolic specialties business,” said Bill Scheffer, General Manager, Performance Resins, at Schenectady International.
Schenectady International, based in Schenectady, NY, is also a producer of alkylphenols and electronic chemicals.
